KKR Workshop: Methodology and Applications
12 -14 June, 2009
Research Institute for Solid State Physics and Optics
Hungarian Academy of Sciences
Organizers:
B. Újfalussy, L. Szunyogh, L. Udvardi, J. Kollár
Scope:
This workshop continues the regular series of meetings of the KKR research community organized under the support of Psi-K (Munich 2004, Bristol 2006, Canterbury 2008). The intended highlights of the workshop are as follows:
(i) Ab initio vs. multi-scale approaches to
finite temperature metallic magnetism in simple metals,
heterogeneous systems and nanostructured materials.
(ii) Functional materials for spintronics: oxides, half-metals, multi- and
nanoferroics.
(iii) Advances in understanding the spin- and the anomalous Hall effect
in terms of Boltzmann's transport equation or of the Kubo formalism.
(iv) A special session will be devoted to discuss methodological issues
with emphasis to FP-KKR, LSIC-KKR, DMFT-KKR and R-DLM.
